DeLay Opens His Pie Hole

I contend [abortion] affects you in immigration... If we had those 40 million children that were killed over the last 30 years, we wouldn't need the illegal immigrants to fill the jobs that they are doing today. Think about it.
-- Tom DeLay - Speaking at gathering of College Republicans

But Tom...they'd probably all vote Democrat and you wouldn't be able to deport them.
-- Kvatch

Apparently the former asswipe from Texas believes that the apex of a parent's ambition for their child is a low-skill, low-wage, low-prestige job with no benefits.

The worst part is..THEY BOUGHT IT!!

These are college educated neocons..didn't they look at each other and say..wtf?
If I had nine kids I could play full court basketball all day. I could get one of my kids to go to work and do my job for me. DeLay's onto something!
Holy effing cow, I thought you were MAKING THAT UP!
That is one of the benefits they see of an owndership society. Someoen else owns you
Dusty... Just goes to show you, education is wasted on conserva--I mean--the young. ;-)

SA... You know that sounds remarkably like the logic that families back in the 19th century used (minus the basketball thing, that is). Of course the world only had 1.5B people at that point.
Nvisiblewmn... Half of me says, "I only wish I were making it up." The other half says, "Thank God for DeLay. I couldn't make up something that moronic if I tried."

Scott... OH! So that's what "Ownership society" means. Now it all becomes clear. ;-)
"...low-skill, low-wage, low-prestige job with no benefits."

but of course, that's the american dream
The bottom line is they have opposed abortion for that very reason! Less taxpayers! No kidding!! It had nothing to do with morals...
The corpocracy even tried shipping our jobs to Mexico, China and elsewhere, and there still aren't enough Americans to fill those jobs.

That's barbaric!

It's much preferable that children die in childhood of easily preventable illnesses because of inadequate healthcare, or get turned into sociopaths in an overburdened and abusive orphanage or foster care system.

Protect the unborn!! Screw 'em once they're here and aware of everything that's happening to them.

I "thought about it" and I'm figuring that he is getting at the fact that most aborted babies are unwanted and mostly because people don't have resources. Thus, they won't be able to get an education and will thus end up having to take the low-end jobs.

Unlike, of course, his esteemed audience.

Think about it.
All I can say is that I hope the Judge at DeLay's upcoming trial is not a neocon/theocon ideologue. :-(
RAFFI... Well, it seems to be now...sadly.

Suzie-Q... That's probably true. What could we have done with the taxes of another 40M people? Doubled the size of the military and invaded Iran, I'd venture.

Lew... Actually it's even worse. Many on-shore companies don't want to hire Americans and employ tactics that will make sure to discourage qualified citizen applicants. These corps then go to Congress and plead for more visas for foreign workers.
Screw 'em once they're here and aware of everything that's happening to them.

Julie... To me, the above seems to be the nominal conservative viewpoint.

Praguetwin... Makes sense to me. Education is no kind of leveler these days anyway.

TomCat... He's already gotten some favorable rulings. He might get off.
I hope not. :-(
oh, yeah--
I sure want MY kids out in those fields picking cotton and tomatoes. yep. just what every mother wants for her children.

OR-- we could spend $7.00 for a potato.

can even HE believe what comes out of his mouth?

well, I guess if he could say, 'let people see Jesus in me--and smile.' when he's been indicted for fraud and corruption. . . .
I hope not. :-(

I'm with you, but you know how Texans are. I do, I am one.

let people see Jesus in me--and smile.

Two Crows... Spoken like a true bug man.
