This morning Brad Newsham, organizer of the Beach Impeach Project, stopped by and let us know how he managed to get those impossibly straight letters. Thanks Brad!

Great photo. Thanks for the link!
Damn..how'd they make such nice straight letters?
The people have drawn a line in the sand, will Congress listen?
Brilliant!

I wondered 'bout the "straightness" too. The linkage explains nicely.

Brilliant!

:D
Lew...that would have made an excellent name for the post, huh? 'Line In The Sand'.

Michael, Polishifter...search me. I don't think the article mentioned how they did it.

Dada, and thanks for the link on Dada's Daily as well.
I like the Line in the Sand line, too. Cool pic, Kvatch.
awesome!
Sweet. Happy New Year Kvatch.
Been away for a few days....that's a neat pic, like Pelosi's first "legislative" triumph was passing "tough" lobbyist reform. Only problem is...snuck in deep in the last of the article was "Bipartisan report" to her and good ole Boner due in March, as how to implement enforcement. Congressional code speak for "we'll wait until this dies down, then water the bill down to nothing."

A large majority of people want that pic to happen. A lot of people want lobbyist reform to happen. But unless somebody listens, and puts some teeth into it, well....you might as well be talking to the.....Speaker Moonbeam!..(: And she's deaf.

More of the same old shit from a different asshole is all...(:
Looks like great sport, but they've got their clothes on!
You could make a fortune on the baby oil franchise!
TFWY - I hope you're wrong 'bout the "watering down", but fear you're right.

It just happens way to often to abstain from sodium w/ such news.
okay , sent off to Countdown and also Cafferty....hmm, and the yes, shamelessly stolen...I am so sorry dear frog,...maybe I can be forgiven ????
Graeme...isn't it? I wish I'd been there.

Libby... Thanks.

TFWY...agreed. I'm quite concerned about how to hold the Democratic Congress accountable over the next two years. Unfortunately, the group that Pelosi, et. al. need to be catering to to hold on to power is not lefties such as myself, but centrists. Lobbying reform though, is something that resonates with everybody...everybody except politicians, that is.

Cartledge... Spoken like a true Aussie! But you forget how bloody cold Ocean Beach and the water of our coast is. Comes down from Alaska you know.
SadButTrue, see the above response to Cartledge. Right now the sun is low enough on the horizon that there's not much chance of sunburn. :-)

Michael, I'll wait to see what gets by the President's desk.

Enigma, thanks for the mention over on Watergate Summer.
Well, our chance to convince Nancy Pelosi to Impeach Bush/Cheney is this Monday Jan. 15th..

Pelosi most likely said impeachment was "off the table" to remove any appearance of conflict-of-interest that would arise if she were thrust into the presidency as a result of the coming impeachment.

What we need to do is to pressure Pelosi not to interfere with impeachment maneuverings within her party. Sending her Do-It-Yourself impeachments legitimizes her when she is forced to join the impeachment movement in the future.

Sacks and sacks of mail are about to arrive in Nancy Pelosi's office initiating impeachment via the House of Representative's own rules this Monday January 15th. This legal document is as binding as if a State or if the House itself passed the impeachment resolution (H.R. 635).

There's a little known and rarely used clause of the "Jefferson Manual" in the rules for the House of Representatives which sets forth the various ways in which a president can be impeached. Only the House Judiciary Committee puts together the Articles of Impeachment, but before that happens, someone has to initiate the process. That's where we come in. In addition to a House Resolution (635), or the State-by-State method, one of the ways to get impeachment going is for individual citizens like you and me to submit a memorial. ImpeachforPeace.org has created a new memorial based on one which was successful in impeaching a federal official in the past. You can find it on their website as a PDF.

You can initiate the impeachment process and simultaneously help to convince Pelosi to follow through with the process. Do-It-Yourself by downloading the memorial, filling in the relevant information (your name, state, etc.), and sending it in. Be a part of history.

This is from Brad Newsham, organizer of the event. I started two months ago, and once I got the idea, I drew the image on out graph paper. Lettering 100 feet tall and ten feet thick. There is a nice straight seawall at Ocean Beach, and I pounded two stakes in the sand exactly 50 feet from the seawall and 300 feet apart. I stretched a 300 foot tape between them and drew the 'top' line parallel to the sea wall. Then I drew a parallel bottom line 100 feet further toward the water. The rest was just math and following the notes on my graph paper and moving tapes measures and laying them down and running a stick alongside the tape measure to make a line and then having someone drag the heel of their boot along the line... The first time I did it, it took me and friend three days. Saturday morning we had it down to an hour and a half...

;-)
