Senator George Allen (R VA) Is A Traitor

Of all the Senators on the wrong side of the Military Commissions Act of 2006 none is less surprising than George Allen of Virginia, a man who once said of Chuck Robb, the Democrat he defeated in 2000, "Virginians don't need a senator who votes Bill Clinton 85 percent of the time..." Well Allen votes George W. Bush 100% of the time, and this time his President has led him right over the cliff.

You see, the Military Commissions Act of 2006 isn't just any bill. It expressly does away with Article 1, Section 9 of the US Constitution (Habeas Corpus), the 5th, and 6th Amendments. It is an violation of a senator's oath of office, which reads as follows:
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.
...and Allen's 'yea' vote makes him an enemy of the Constitution. Thus, he's a traitor for having betrayed his state and his country.

But are we surprised? In a word, "No!" Because even setting aside all his youthful indiscretions, Allen is still a scum. The man endorsed Oliver North for the US Senate (you know...a felon is OK, just as long as it's a Republican felon). Allen remained silent while his campaign officials impugned his gubernatorial opponent for being a woman and for being single. He's opposed celebrating Martin Luther King Day for as long as he's been in office and endorses revisionist views of the Civil War and southern heritage that make no mention of slavery. In short, he's exactly the sort who would blindly follow his president in establishing tyranny.

The only thing creepier than an actual Southern Confederate revisionist is a wannabe from California who tries to out-redneck the locals. I hope Webb thrashes the cretin.
The stories about him breaking his brother's collarbone because he didn't want to go to bed on time, dragging his sister up the stairs by her hair because she didn't want to go to bed on time and throwing his other brother through a sliding glass door trouble me the most, actually. I know they occurred long ago, but they point to somebody w/ serious anger issues and I kinda doubt Football/Cowboy George wnet off to therapy to work on them.

Just what we need - another fucking preznit named George w/ "father" issues who needs to prove he's "manly."
The stories about the abuse he put his siblings thru are horrific, yet what do the wingnuts do? Smear the sister. They claim she suffers from sibling rivalry. Rivalry? Over what? Is she actually jealous that her twisted brother is a sociopathic racist?
Show him the door in November!

Ms. Cracker, you can't even really call him a 'carpetbagger', can you. My bet's on Webb. I think that Virginians, especially in the Northern counties, are sick of guys like George Allen.

R-bE, I'm inclined not to focus on his youth except in how it shows through as an adult. Many people grow out troubled childhoods. I'm with Tina. My disgust is for the party that smears the sister (and any other critics that show up).

Fred...amen!
Hey - you hit it big time. You are linked at Ameriblog and Bring It On to name two. Probably others by now. Well done. Keep up the punch!
just amazing...

but am i surprised - no

as lots of slimy, yucky jerks have been crawling out of baby bush's ass lately
Peacechick, I saw the Bring It On link. Think Tom Harper reposted his "Who Hijacked My Country" post from yesterday. Don't recognize the second.

AZG yeah, but Allen may be the slimiest. Well OK...next to Santorum. OK...next to Frist. OK...next to...
I love this "TRAITOR" series. Please, do one on Oregon Senator Gordon Smith.

I think this is the real oath these dorks have taken:

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will subvert and destroy the Constitution of the United States to the benefit of all who agree with the president, foreign and domestic; that I will bear false witness and untruthful allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation for a fee, with mental reservations and purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter as instructed to do so by the White House: So help me Gosh."
YIKES...azgoddess!

Hey Snave, how about you do on Smith and I'll link it? Gotta stick to the Senators I know something about. :-)
Hmmmm. I'll see what I can do!
Even though United States Senators have sworn an oath to support and defend the Constitution, there are no senators who vote with the Constitution 100% of the time, and there is only one member of the US House of Representatives who votes with the Constitution 100% of the time—Presidential Candidate Ron Paul. He rocks!
