I would like to report to you that the agency (CIA) is back on a very even keel and sailing well.
Blognonymous translation: "The dissenters have been silenced. The leakers have been fired. Your minions have been installed, and everybody knows that their job is to fit the intelligence to your agenda."
If it comes to fitting their intelligence to an agenda... we're screwed! :>)
One Intel agency fits all agendas.
Could very well have something to do with Rummy or the prostitution ring involving Randy "Duke" Cunningham. Who knows.
Hey James, I saw that Cunningham conjecture on Salon. Any support for that out there in the MSM?
TPM...no truer words, my friend.
Ju Blu has a poem which must have been written especially for you (although she doesn't say so directly).
Hookers and poker, don't tell me this is what's finaly going to get the publics attention?!
About damn time, say I (and all right-thinking Americans.) As for the hookers and poker, well, men in power work hard...should they not be allowed to have a little fun?
You know, Kvatch, I read that differently. Translation " I would like to tell you if I could, but I can't...
The rest of his statement was also well crafted...I think Goss, unlike Bush, is a very smart man.
"The dissenters have been silenced. The leakers have been fired. Your minions have been installed, and everybody knows that their job is to fit the intelligence to your agenda."
Now, release the Flying Monkeys!
Was Goss too independent-minded? That would be my guess, or like it was suggested above, maybe some of his agency's investigations were hitting too close to Bu$hCo for comfort...
It will all come out in the wash someday.
The Wall Street Journal says Goss's hand-picked administrator, Kyle Foggo, is under federal criminal investigation for awarding contracts to the same defense contractor who bribed Cunningham and Katherine Harris.
I haven't seen anything reported in the MSM that directly implicates Goss himself so far, but it wouldn't surprise me if something turns up.
The administration spin is so transparent. "We've been talking about doing this for months." OK, so why have Goss go so suddenly and before a successor could be picked? "This has nothing to do with the Cunningham/Wilkes case." OK, so why does Goss go the very week it is revealed his #3 man Foggo (who was elevated to his position by a Goss aide) is under investigation in the case?
Too weird. Something else will come out. Especially because most people at the CIA despise Bush and Goss (despite Goss' purge campaign). The leaks will start, no matter what happened to Mary McCarthy. And if it's a judicial matter, well, you can only hide that for so long too.
I think Sumo's right, but that day will be sooner rather than later. Betty, R-bE I've heard those rumors as well, but has there been more substantive information? I haven't read any.
Windspike, Goss was smart enough to know that he shouldn't have been choosen for the post but not smart enough to get out when it was clear he couldn't do the job.
