The Polls - How low can they go?

Looks like it's a very Presidential day at Blognonymous...

Down, down, down the polls do screech
Shortly after each Bush speech.
When Nixon's twenty they do reach
Congress knows they must impeach.

But for right now we have to wait.
Impeachment they will not debate.
Hope November's not too late
For action that seals Bush's fate.

Now even the Republican strategists are saying that the situation may not be recoverable.

Upon the floor and in their pants `Publicans can shriek and rant
Escape they know holds not a chance
For they've now wet their sychophants!

-Oh my! Speaking of "off the cuff"!- :>)

Hey...any verse is good verse! :-)
Question for November: How many republicans will build their platforms for election on disavowing W and pals? Could it be all?
Could it be all?

Could be, but I hope not. I hope they embrace and defend him so they'll lose their seats.
The polls should be negative 30 right now, but there are still some diehard idiots out there. I wish I had a megaphone and could drive around telling everyone about the corruption going on.
"...but there are still some diehard idiots out there."

I refer to these folks as the "kitten voters," as in "they would continue to support Bush even if he bit the head off a kitten on live national television."
...they would continue to support Bush even if he bit the head off a kitten on live national television.

Genius! I think we now have a term to compete with the old Yellow Dog Democrat. We'll call them "Kitten Biting Republicans". :-)
Kitten Biting Republicans, I like the ring of that myself...
You left a comment over at my place about the Nixon low. Right now, I think we're aiming more for the Truman low. And uneducated man who gained office on his simplicity and integrity who took America into the forgotten quagmire of Korea and was beset at the end of his administration by scandals.

Until the indictment arrow or impeachment arrow points directly at Bush, I think the Nixonian numbers would be difficult.

Sounds like we have a winner!

Mike, I don't disagree, but if the trend were to continue, we'd hit the Nixonian low about a month before the mid-terms. Now wouldn't that be something?
I agree with Mike. I don't think Nixon numbers are possible yet.

There's just this core 30%-35% who love their preznit no matter what he does or how much he fucks up.

I've got some family members like this actually.

My unemployed godfather, who's kind of a dumb guy, is still proud he helped Georgie win Florida because, as he told me, "I get to keep my guns."

Meanwhile he's been laid off, his wife works at McDonald's and his lesbian daughter is a second class citizen.

But goddamn he's happy cuz' he gets to keep his guns!

I don't know how many times I told him Democrats aren't going to take his shotguns. Not in Florida, at any rate. Now if he tries to bring 'em to NYC, where the rest of the family lives, that's a different story.

But no matter what I say, my godfather doesn't trust Democrats and and trusts Republicans on a whole host of issues.

And I won't even start on my step family and why they voted for Bush (and still would!).

Ugh.

A core 30%-35% of crazy fucking people.

RB-E, (welcome...BTW) there you go--a perfect example of a "Kitten Biting Republican".

And I won't even start on my step family and why they voted for Bush (and still would!).

And more, a whole pod (gaggle, posse, herd, whatever...) of Kitten Biting Republicans!
You people are really sick! Our great President would never bite the head off a kitten! He is a great man who's ready to slaughter as many Islamofascists as it takes to keep America safe from terrorism.
