The 1 Republican I ever voted for:
Arnie Carlson for Minnesota Governor
2 great non-fiction books I read and recommend:
The End of Oil, What's The Matter With Kansas
IMHO: The 3 most important duties/obligations in our society:
Vote, serve on a jury, be a part of the political process (campaign, caucus, primary)
The 4 points on the compass where I've lived:
Texas, Minnesota, Virginia, California
5 recent deaths that had me in tears:
Paul Wellstone, Johnny Cash, Rosa Parks, Vivian Malone-Jones, August Wilson
6 things you should divest yourself of (these get more words, because the deserve more words):
Your TV - It's an evil little box, but if you must have one, you choose, don't let the media foist anything on you
Your car(s) - It's an evil little box on wheels, getting rid of it is true freedom
Your addictions - Enjoy everything, but don't ever let any substance control you
Your money - You can't take it with you, spend it, give it, save it for when you'll need it, but don't never hoard it
Your hubris - Face it, you don't know any more than anybody else
Your inhibitions - Do everything--get to the end and be able to say "I'm full. I tried it all."
So for my turn, I'll tag Stacy at Cafe Politico and mikevotes at Born at the Crest of the Empire.
Happy New Year by the way!!! I think 2006 is already shaping up nicely, politics-wise, don't you find? I mean, could we ask more than for the hopes that as many as 205 prominent republicans may have connections to Abramhoff & end up indicted on some form of corruption charge?
Let's just indict all of Congress. The ultimate in "throw the bastards out"! :-)
