Title says it all. Farewell Rosa. Your courage will never be forgotten.
And while we remember Rosa Parks, we should also remember Vivian (Malone) Jones who passed away on the 14th of this month. Vivian Malone and James Hood were the first two black students to be admitted and to attend the University of Alabama, despite the obstructionist tactics of George Wallace and his supporters. Vivian was also the U of A's first black graduate and went on to work in the Justice Dept's Civil Rights division.
This country owes them a lot of gratitude.
